Research Civitan Club

The Research Civitan Club (RCC) is located at the UAB Civitan International Research Center.  Club members are faculty, students, and local community members who volunteer to support the local Birmingham community. The mission of the Club is to aid our local community who are affected by neurodevelopmental disorders.

UAB Autism Research

The central goals of autism research at UAB are to learn more about what causes autism and to develop treatments that can improve the quality of life for people living with the condition. There are still many theories about what causes autism, but most researchers now believe that both genetic and environmental factors play roles. As science continues to shed light on the molecular workings that underpin autism, we will see more profound progress in our understanding of this condition and, we hope, treatments for those affected.

UAB Civitan International Research Center

The Center is an internationally recognized leader in research, training, and clinical care for people with neurodevelopmental and other brain disorders.
