Get Involved & Stay Connected

Since 1944, the Harvard Chan School Alumni Association has been working to bring together alumni with the goal of advancing the professional education of its members. Led by the Alumni Council, the Association promotes fellowship, networking, and professional development.

Learn how you can get involved with the Alumni Association by serving on a committee or running for a position.

Harvard Chan School alumni chapters can be found in cities where there is a large concentration of alumni. There are chapters in Boston, New York, Seattle, and Washington, DC. These organizations are led by enthusiastic volunteers and host several events throughout the year, from networking programs, social events, and educational programs.

Learn more about how to connect with chapters.

Outside of cities where there are chapters, Global Connectors serve as the point of contact in their respective city or region. With support from the Office for Alumni Affairs, Global Connectors give guidance and help organize when Harvard Chan School events are planned in their area. Global Connectors can also plan and organize programs for alumni in their area.

Interested alumni should email alumni@hsph.harvard.edu.

MPH students and DrPH students are required to complete a field experience. The MPH practicum serves as a structured and significant educational experience intended to give students the opportunity to turn theory into practice by developing professional skills in a public health field. Field Immersions allow DrPH students to work closely with senior public health practitioners and leaders, contributing to important projects and frameworks around organizational capacity, service delivery, policy initiatives and, ultimately, consumer and population health.

Go to the DrPH page or Field Practice page to learn more.

Admissions Ambassadors meet with prospective and incoming students one-on-one or virtually to answer questions about the Harvard Chan School and careers in public health. Ambassadors may host a group of interested students and will be asked to give a presentation. Materials and training are provided by the Admissions Office. There is no geographic limitation to being an Admissions Ambassador. Recruitment occurs in the spring.
