Every year, 1,600 to 2,000 new alumni join the ranks of SUNY Cortland’s Red Dragon Nation.
With the recent graduation of 1,992 SUNY Cortland students, more than 70,000 living alumni are now reaching career goals, raising families, and making a difference across the face of the planet. And every single graduate is entitled to a copy of Columns, your paper alumni magazine.
Putting out that edition you received this past summer requires more than 2.5 million sheets of paper. Manufacturing that paper, meanwhile, consumes more than 7.5 million gallons of water and roughly 300 trees.
As our numbers grow, we’re looking for ways to reduce the impact this magazine has on the environment. Don’t worry, we’re not going to stop printing Columns. But we are offering paperless options that give you an opportunity to help us in our effort.
A digital version of this edition is already available online through Red Dragon Network. Many of you already read Columns using a computer or mobile device. That’s great, and in the future, that version will become more interactive and engaging.
Starting now, you can request the magazine in digital format instead of paper. Simply complete the form below to tell us you’ve chosen the “Red is Green” option and we’ll take you off the Columns mailing list. Instead, we’ll email a link to the online version directly to you.
So, give it some thought. Regardless of how you choose to read Columns, we look forward to keeping you informed and strengthening our bonds as SUNY Cortland alumni.
