Exceptional Educator Preparation Scholarship Application

This application is to apply for a federally funded grant scholarship for certain education candidates pursuing a Special Education Teaching license. This scholarship is intended for students in:

the graduate, undergraduate paraprofessional cohort and traditional undergraduate programs
who qualify as United States citizens and
who identify as racially, ethnically, linguistically, and/or ability diverse.

The scholarship is for two academic years as long as the student remains enrolled and in good academic standing. You will be required to serve as a special education teacher for two years for every year of scholarship. Those who do not meet the service requirement may need to repay the scholarships awarded. The grant seeks to: “improve the quality of personnel, including personnel from diverse backgrounds, who are fully credentialed to serve children with disabilities by implementing a recruitment plan to attract and enroll 68 scholars over 5 years from racially, ethnically, linguistically, and ability diverse backgrounds.”
