The Daniel L. Barnes ’07 Memorial Scholarship provides scholarship support for a student athlete who demonstrates academic excellence and good sportsmanship, and is a participating student athlete in either the UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse or UAlbany Football programs.

Since it was established in 2016, the scholarship has been awarded to the following outstanding student athletes: Kyle McClancy (men’s lacrosse) 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 recipient; Tehoka Nanticoke (men’s lacrosse) 2018-2019 recipient; Joseph Casale (football) 2019-2020 recipient. About the Barnes Memorial Scholarship

The Daniel L. Barnes ’07 Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dan Barnes ’07 by his parents, family and friends. A native of Kingston, New York, Barnes graduated cum laude from the University at Albany in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in history, minoring in Spanish and political science. While at UAlbany, Dan was an accomplished two-sport athlete in football and lacrosse. Dan also earned a master’s degree at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
