The Oklahoma Biomedical Research Tax Credit at the Stephenson Cancer Center

The Oklahoma Biomedical Research Tax Credit is a program authorized by the Oklahoma Legislature that encourages charitable contributions to qualified research institutions like the Stephenson Cancer Center.

The tax credit reduces your total state income tax liability by the amount of the credit and is offered in addition to state and federal charitable tax deductions.

Questions about giving to Stephenson Cancer Center? Please contact Shawn McDaniel at shawn-mcdaniel1@ouhsc.edu or 405-271-2174.

There may be other cancer-related funds at OU that are not administered by the Cancer Center. When you make a charitable gift to the Stephenson Cancer Center, please make the check payable to the OU Foundation with Stephenson Cancer Center on the memo line or in an enclosed note. Please mail to: PO Box 258856 - Oklahoma City, OK, 73125-8856.

Any Oklahoma taxpayer (including individuals, corporations, estates, trusts and partnerships) who donates directly to the Stephenson Cancer Center may claim this credit on their state income tax return.

The credit is 50% of the amount donated but may not exceed $1,000 ($2,000 for a married filing joint return).

The OU Foundation sends an annual acknowledgement to donors that indicates qualification for the credit. You may provide a receipt, canceled check or a copy of that letter when you file your taxes.

Whether you file electronically or with a paper copy, you will need to complete Oklahoma Tax Form 511CR (or 512 for corporations) and note your credit on the line that reads "Credit for Cancer Research Contribution."

For more information, please contact healthsciences@oufoundation.org or (405) 321-1174.
