Guidelines

Definition


The Award for Excellence in Alumni Education was established in 2003. It is presented annually by the Committee on Academic Programs for Alumni (CAPA) to an individual or group that has made an outstanding contribution to alumni education at Princeton. Special emphasis is placed on length of service and/or substantial contributions to the overall advancement of educational programs for alumni. Only one award will be given each year.

Eligibility


The award may be given to alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents or friends of Princeton who have contributed significantly to alumni education programs through their service in planning, developing, organizing and/or implementing those programs. Alumni groups (classes, regional associations, clubs, or other recognized affiliated groups) are also eligible.

Nominations


Nominations for the award shall be submitted in writing and may come from any source. They shall be solicited annually by CAPA through a special Award Sub-committee appointed by the chair of CAPA. The deadline for receipt of nominations shall be March 1.

Selection


The special Award Sub-committee shall meet to review nominations and make recommendations to the chair of CAPA. Final selection shall be made by a vote of the members of CAPA.


Award Timing


The award winner will be honored at the Annual Alumni Council Reunion Luncheon.

Type of Award


The award shall consist of both a gift and a citation. The name of the recipient will be engraved on a plaque displayed at Maclean House.
