The Bob and Patricia Schieffer Endowment is a permanent endowment established for the benefit of The University of Texas at Arlington Libraries. Named in honor of Bob Schieffer—one of the nation’s most respected journalists and longtime moderator of Face the Nation—and his wife, Patricia, the endowment reflects their shared commitment to journalistic integrity, open discourse, and the preservation of history. Through this endowment, UTA Libraries receives sustainable support to acquire, preserve, and steward archival materials of enduring historical and cultural value.
The endowment also provides the Dean of Libraries with broad flexibility to pursue emerging opportunities that align with these values. Support may include guest speakers, student assistantships, research grants, and other initiatives that advance the preservation, accessibility, and interpretation of archival resources. Gifts to the Bob and Patricia Schieffer Endowment help grow its impact over time—ensuring that vital stories are preserved, future journalists and scholars are supported, and the principles that have defined Bob Schieffer’s distinguished career continue to inform public understanding for generations to come.
